1. What is Simulation Mode?
Simulation mode enables organisation admins to stagger projects in their portfolio, allowing users to experiment with different portfolio versions while keeping the current project data unchanged.
Once finalised, a users can publish their simulation, applying the changes to live data.
Note: Simulation mode is only available for organization admins.
2. When should I use Simulation Mode?
Simulation mode is ideal for:
Staggering projects in a portfolio: Adjust and align due dates to optimise project timelines.
Testing portfolio adjustments: Experiment with different project sequencing while not touching any live data.
3. How do I use Simulation Mode?
Entering Simulation mode
Ensure you are logged in as an organization admin.
Navigate to the Timeline view of your portfolio and click on Simulation mode found in the top ribbon.
Create a new simulation or choose a saved simulation.
Making adjustments in Simulation mode
Filter the projects you wish to stagger in the portfolio.
Toggle on Workload and select the resources you wish to view while editing, which will appear at the bottom of your screen
To better view specific roles within the Timeline, select the Highlight roles button and select all roles you want displayed.
Drag projects to your desired location which will automatically adjust workload capacities.

Exiting Simulation mode options
You can publish a simulation immediately which will apply changes to the entire portfolio
You can keep it, create another one and compare both with each other. Later you can publish your saved/kept simulations
You can delete the simulation if not needed anymore
Tip: You can share your simulations with other admins in your organisation. |
