In this article, you will learn:
1. What is the Date Range Picker?
The Date Range Picker allows you to select dates for tasks efficiently. It provides a dual-calendar view to easily navigate and adjust date selections. Milestones, checklist, and project end dates use a single month date picker.
2. How to Select a Date Range
Click on the date field where you want to set a range.
The Date Range Picker will open, displaying two months side by side.
The highlighted underlined date at the top indicates which date (start or end) you are currently editing.
Select a start date by clicking on the desired date.
Select an end date by clicking on the desired date.
Click OK to confirm your selection or Cancel to exit without saving.
3. Using the "Keep Duration" Option
The Keep Duration checkbox ensures that your planned duration remains the same when adjusting start or end dates.
How to Use:
Toggle Keep Duration on if you want to maintain the same number of days when changing the start date.
Toggle Keep Duration off if you want to manually set a custom date range.
For example, if your original selection was from October 2 to November 5 (25 days), enabling "Keep Duration" will automatically adjust the end date if you change the start date, ensuring the duration remains at 25 days.
4. Including Non-Working Days
If you need to factor in weekends or non-working days:
Check the Include Non-Working Days option before finalising your selection.
When unchecked, only working days will be counted in the selected range.
5. Date Range Picker FAQs
Why can’t I change the end date?
When changing the end date, make sure the end date is highlighted and underlined in the header. If “Keep Duration” is enabled and the end date is highlighted, the start date will automatically adjust based on the duration.
How do I select a date range across multiple months?
Use the arrow buttons at the top of each calendar month panel to navigate to different months, then select your start and end dates accordingly.
What happens if I select a weekend?
If "Include Non-Working Days" is unchecked, weekends will not be counted in the range. Toggle this setting on to include them.
Why is my selection resetting when I pick a new date?
If "Keep Duration" is enabled, the picker automatically adjusts the other date to maintain the duration. Disable this setting to manually choose a custom date range.
